The Ghana Scout Association Ushers in New Leadership

The Ghana Scout Association has officially ushered in a new era of leadership following the successful election of a new Chief Commissioner at its Annual General Meeting (AGM) held on 29th November 2025.

At the AGM, Mr. Hilary Yaw Awusie was duly elected as the Chief Commissioner of the Ghana Scout Association, succeeding Mr. Louis Anopong Okyere, who honorably completed his constitutionally mandated two terms in office. Mr. Seth Kojo Eyiah was also elected as the Deputy Chief Commissioner, joining the new leadership team to steer the affairs of the Association.

To formally mark the transition, a handing-over ceremony was held yesterday in a brief but significant event. The ceremony was presided over by the Chief Scout, Samuel Seth Wood, who also serves as the Chairman of the National Scout Council.

The event was attended by some Regional Commissioners and members of their respective Regional Scout Councils, members of the National Executive of the previous administration, and the outgoing Chief Commissioner, Mr. Louis Anopong Okyere.

In his remarks, the Chief Scout commended the outgoing administration for its dedication and service to Scouting in Ghana, while encouraging the new leadership to build on existing gains and further strengthen the relevance of Scouting in national development.

The Ghana Scout Association warmly congratulates Mr. Hilary Yaw Awusie and Mr. Seth Kojo Eyiah on their election. The Association looks forward to a renewed vision, unity, and impactful Scouting under the new administration.
