H.E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, President of Ghana, declared Friday 10th June, 2022, as Green Ghana Day, with the theme "Mobilizing for a Greener Future". As a result, the Ghana Scout Association took part in the nationwide tree-planting exercise.

In Shai Hills, Accra, the Ghana Scout Association, in collaboration with the Shai Hills Resource Reserve, the Forestry Commission, students from the University of Ghana (Legon) – Archaeology department, and the Ghana Wildlife Society, planted 1,300 Mahogany seedlings.

Speaking at the event, James Oppong, Business Planning Manager for Wildlife Division, stated that planting more trees helps to preserve the country's forest cover and environment, as human survival is dependent on the existence of trees.
