Ghana Scout Association, GSA, organized the Second phase of the Scouts in Entrepreneurship Project for thirty scouts from the eight (8) regions in Accra. The Second phase of the Scouts in Entrepreneurship Project was to equip scouts with practical skill training in the production of Antiseptic or disinfectant, liquid soap, hand sanitizers, bleach, and shower gel. The two days’ workshop was held from Saturday 7th August, 2021 to Sunday 8th August, 2021, at the Ghana Girls Guide training centre. The training program was sponsored by Messengers of Peace.
Mr. Shaibu Fuseini Fenteduah, the District Commissioner for Kintampo Municipality facilitated the Second Phase of the training program. Scouts were shown the needed ingredients and tools and were taken through the preparation of hand sanitizer, antiseptic or disinfectant, liquid soap, shower gel, and bleach.
The Chief Commissioner, Deputy Chief Commissioner, Finance Commissioner, Membership Commissioner and Training Commissioner were in attendance for the training program. The Chief Commissioner, Mr. Louis Anopong Okyere, in his welcome address urged scouts to give the facilitator all the needed support and attention to help them gain such relevant skill.
Deputy Chief Commissioner also urged participants to be observant and apply the scouting principle of learning by doing in order to make the most out of the training. However he expects scouts to use the skills acquired at the training to meet their economic needs.
