SCOUTS CREATE AWARENESS ON COVID-19 IN DEPRIVED COMMUNITIES.
Scouts in the Ashanti Region oF Ghana created awareness on COVID-19 in deprived communities. The awareness was to provide information on personal hygiene, social distancing as well as the effects of stigmatization.
The sensitization was in collaboration with the National Youth Authority in the region. The campaign created awareness in the youth about the preventive measures that one has to observe.
Scouts spoke of the need to wash hand regularly under running water, sanitizing hands regularly especially when they change hands with money.
They also emphasised the need for social distancing to avoid being infested and advised the youth to keep at least a distance of an arms length. They urged the communities to also desist from stigmatization since it has greater psychological effect on people which could be long lasting.
Ghana Scout Association is always grateful to its partners in this fight against COVID-19.
