The project emphasizes on the sesitizating the communities on correct hand washing skills, social distancing and also donation of veronica buckets. These are buckets made locally to help people wash their hands under running water. The project will run for four months after which it will be reviewed depending on the state of the Noval COVID-19 virus.
The Brong Ahafo Regional Scout Council organised hand washing sensitisation in some of the rural communities in the region. The sesitization lasted for two weeks. Scout leaders were put in patrols in partnership with the district assemblies. Areas covered so far are Kintampo District, Sunyani District and Buoyem.
The impact was great as the rural folks learnt about the rightful ways of hand washing under running water as one of the precautionary measures to stay safe from COVID-19.
The Headquarters of the GSA is located at Accra High Street, at the Baden Powell Centenary Hall Premises.
