DONATION OF TREATED MOSQUITO NETS TO THE PEOPLE OF AFLAO AGBLEKPUI IN THE VOLTA REGION

In response to the prevalence of malaria and other mosquito-borne diseases in Ghana, the Ghana Scout Association, in collaboration with UK scouts under the project name "Scouts against Malaria," donated treated mosquito nets to the people of Agblekpui in the Volta Region on 22nd February, 2024, which marks the Founders Day Celebration.

The primary objective of the mosquito nets donation exercise was to increase access to and utilization of mosquito nets among residents of Aflao-Agblekpui. By providing mosquito nets free of charge, the project aimed to reduce malaria transmission rates and improve overall health outcomes in the community.

The people were educated on how to fix the treated mosquito net and how to maintain it so it last longer. The donation exercise was done with much focus on pregnant women, lactating mothers, children and the aged in mind. Since they were the most affected by the disease caused by mosquitos.
