Educational Methods is a term used in Scouting that encompasses our approach to education for our members (Scouts) and our approach to the training of our volunteer leadership.


For young people and adults we use the term 'education' in its broadest sense; as a life-long process that enables the global and continuous development of a person's capacities both as an individual and as a member of society.

The Scout method, which is a system of progressive self-education through; a promise and Law, Learning by Doing, Membership of small groups (Patrols System), Life in nature and symbolic framework.

The Ghana Scout Association operated within age brackets as each activity is specific to its age group and reflects on the better understanding and participation of the activities.
The sections are;

  • Venturer                             16-18…
  • Rover                                  19-25…
