The Ghana Scout Association has enrol this project to help rural communities fight against COVID-19. The targets rural communities who will be vulnerable to the virus due to resources.
The project emphasizes on the sesitization on correct hand washing skills, need to observe social distancing as well as making donation of veronica buckets. These are buckets made locally to help people wash their hands under running water. The project will run for four months after which it will be reviewed depending on the state of the Noval COVID-19 virus.
The Brong Ahafo Regional Scout Council organised hand washing sensitisation in some of the rural communities in the region. The sesitization lasted for two weeks. Scout leaders were put in patrols in partnership with the district assemblies. Areas covered so far are Kintampo District, Sunyani District and Buoyem.
The impact was great as the rural folks learnt about the rightful ways of hand washing under running water as one of the precautionary measures to stay safe from COVID-19.
